Café Fit-Out, City Walk
A 160 m2 cafe fit-out in Dubai's City Walk, completed in 2023, centred on a sculptural host and service area finished in warm champagne tones. Al-Suhool delivered the full retail fit-out, pairing a bespoke cantilevered brass counter with stone-clad feature walls, terrazzo flooring and a recessed cove-lit ceiling to create a refined, boutique hospitality experience.
Scope of works
- Complete retail fit-out of a 160 m2 cafe unit at City Walk, from bare-shell coordination to handover
- Design and fabrication of a bespoke sculptural host and service counter with a flowing cantilevered brass base
- Supply and installation of large-format stone wall cladding with curved corner transitions
- Laying of polished terrazzo flooring throughout the front-of-house area
- Recessed cove and concealed LED lighting integrated into a curved ceiling detail
- MEP coordination, joinery, finishes and decorative metal feature installation

The challenge
The centrepiece counter demanded a seamless, flowing brass form with no visible joints, set against curved stone walls where any misalignment would be exposed under the soft cove lighting. Working within a compact 160 m2 footprint in a high-footfall City Walk location also required precise sequencing to protect finishes and meet the opening date.
Our solution
Al-Suhool's in-house joinery and metalwork team prototyped and fabricated the brass counter under workshop conditions, then dry-fitted the curved stone panels before final installation to guarantee tight, continuous joints. A phased programme with rigorous QA/QC checks at each finish stage kept the compact site on schedule through to handover.
The outcome
The completed 160 m2 cafe opened on schedule in 2023 with a distinctive sculptural counter that has become its signature feature, delivering a refined boutique identity that elevates the brand within City Walk's competitive F&B setting.
